REGISTRATION FORM

Acceptance to the Conducting Institute will be offered on a rolling basis, and positions are limited, therefore early application is encouraged.

Registration Options

Track 1 - Designed for up to 8 advanced conductors.  

Includes 2 podium sessions with professional chamber ensemble and two sessions with large student/community ensemble, plus individualized attention through daily small group/lab ensemble conducting sessions.  Individual Lesson option also available.

Financial assistance is available to qualified candidates, directed toward the areas of diversity and financial need.

-       Completed Registration Form

-       One-page resumé

-       Video – 15-20 minutes of performance and/or rehearsal, which may be sent in any format you prefer

Notification

-       You will be notified on the status of your acceptance within a few weeks of your application

-       Please note that acceptances will be issued on a rolling basis, so early application is highly recommended

Financial Support 

In our effort to improve access, we have a limited amount of financial support available for applicants.  To apply, please add a one-page letter of request.  Support is directed to the areas of diversity and financial need.

Fees and Payment Schedule 

-       Tuition fee - $1190

-       Application fee of $30 (non-refundable)

-       $500 due upon notification of acceptance

-       Balance of $690 due by April 15, 2020


Track 2 - Designed for up to 8 experienced conductors. 

Includes 2 podium sessions with large student/community ensemble, plus individualized attention through daily small group/lab ensemble  conducting sessions.  

Individual Lesson option also available.

-       Tuition fee - $850

-       Application fee of $30 (non-refundable)

-       $500 due upon notification of acceptance

-       Balance of $350 due by April 15, 2020

Track 3 - Designed for a limited number of experienced conductors (minimum 1 year of full-time teaching or equivalent experience).  

Individual Lesson option also available.

-       Tuition fee - $450

-       $300 due at time of application

-       Balance of $150 due by April 15, 2020

-       Early registration discount prior to April 15 – subtract $100 

Track 4 (Auditor) - Intended for conductors and students of all levels.  Access to all sessions is offered.  No podium time is provided.  Prior experience highly recommended.

-       Tuition fee - $350 for the full week or $150 per day

-       Full amount due at time of Registration

-       Early registration discount prior to April 15 – subtract $100 for the week or $50 per day

Materials for Lab Ensemble

-       Scores and etudes will be available for download from our website.  Please print, prepare and bring with you.  It is recommended that you print double-sided and bind. 

Instruments

Please bring your instrument with you.  This is very important for our small group lab sessions, and you are encouraged to play in the large ensemble as well.  Please contact us in advance if you play a large instrument and need to borrow one. 

Refunds

Unfortunately, because we limit enrollment, we are unable to provide refunds.   If there is a cancellation and the spot can be filled, we may be able to provide a partial refund.


New for 2020:  75-minute Lesson with Professor Gary Hill, Director of Bands Emeritus, Arizona State University

Shared Session (2 people) - $110,  Private Session - $220

Please note that there will be a limited number of spaces available.  The shared session is recommended.  The private option may only be available should the schedule allow.
Either option must be requested at time of application, and paid upon notification of acceptance into LACI.
